Chinese White Jade Censer & Teapot are expected to exceed auction estimates. With continued strength and interest in Chinese antiquities, Manor Auctions expects the older Chinese white jade and ivory pieces to surpass estimates when they sell on February 19th. Manor Auctions specializes in Chinese and Asian antiquities; including jade, ivory, cloisonne, porcelains, art, jewelry and furnishings.
While a great many collectibles are suffering as a result of the current economy, quality Chinese antiques are experiencing a resurgence in collector interest over the past few years. This renewed interest has resulted in increased demand and record prices for better Chinese antiquities. Much of the resurgence in Chinese antiques such as jade, ivory and porcelains is attributed to the recent increase in personal wealth in China. For centuries, through trade, war, theft and sale many of better Chinese antiques and heirlooms left China. With the rise of the Chinese economy and a growing middle-upper class, wealthier Chinese collectors are seeking to purchase many of these items. This new, wealthier. collector base is driving value and also returning many of the best Chinese antiquities back to China.
Over the last 12 months Manor Auctions has sold a wide variety of Asian and Chinese antiques, including jade, ivory, cloisonne, porcelains, silks / art and furnishings. Examples of items recently sold at Manor Auctions are a Chinese screen for $117,800 and a set white jade paperweights for $12,500. Manor Auctions is always seeking quality Chinese and Asian antiques for upcoming Catalog Auctions.
